Image QualityEvery effort has been made to provide very high resolution art images, even if it meant a visit to the museum and shooting the artwork in person (a thinly disguised excuse to travel). The simple purpose of this site is to share great art, free wallpapers and bios. No Gimmicks, No Pop-Ups, Non-Profit. Enjoy. Art wallpapers and photo art images in general are very popular and their use now goes well beyond simple computer wallpapers use. We find that the images on this site are being used extensively by general art lovers, aspiring artists who are honing their technique, and quite a few art classes from late grade school through collegiate studies. All of these uses are not only allowed, they are encouraged. It must be mentioned that these images are for private, non-profit, and single user viewing only. We simply ask that the images be saved to the hard drives of the computers being used for these purposes and then accessed locally, otherwise the bandwidth usage on this site get excessive and prevents other users from being able to sign on due to volume overload. Please note: This site and the images contained herein are not to be used by Community or Blog sites including, but not limited to, My Space, Live Journal, or Xanga. This use is specifically prohibited. As mentioned, this site is designed for private, single computer use only. Hot-linking directly to images using code to download the image to a community site whenever a community member's page is accessed is strictly prohibited. A number of these free images have been made available for community group members at the following alternate location - Simply click on this link Images For Communities. Linking to graphics at that web site is allowed, but not to this web site. More than a few middle school classes have stared at a blank screen on our site because someone in a chat room wanted a 'pretty picture' on their screen while they chatted. This is not our purpose or goal. Windows XP and many other 'after Windows' software programs enable additional uses for these images. Many use them as screen savers, and some people are even using them as cell phone backgrounds... If you ask me, a 2 meg Hi-Res wallpaper is a bit of overkill, but whatever works for you (I've since been politely informed by a bright and precocious eleven year old that she has software on her Dell that converts the computer sized images to cell phone backgrounds in seconds, and she just had to have Starry Night. I sent her my highest resolution, 8 meg, memory devouring version as a thank you, and she loves it). As mentioned, walls are now the main content of the site. The epiphany on the priorities of the site's users occurred when the stats showed that eight people had looked at my Paris photos and 9,000 had viewed or downloaded Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night. Over ninety percent of all inquiries were related to the artwork and free wallpapers I had added in the past, and requests for more images kept coming. Below are links to the most popular classic art images (and a few other heavily demanded non art images) which are located in various sections of the site - Clicking on the text or the thumbnails will take you to the full sized images. The list contains links to specially formatted pages where the images can easily be downloaded for personal use as Wallpapers or Screensavers, or simply for viewing. There is another list of the same images at the bottom of this page which appears identical but, quite frankly, is designed for the search engines which seem to prefer a more "computer speak" link format. The only reason to mention it here is that a few people were puzzled by the duplication. The graphics in general have been optimized at a wallpaper resolution of 1024X768. however, the graphics adapt nicely to any 1 to 1:33 aspect ratio including 800X600. Please Note: This is a non-profit site, and the images are not to be re-sold or re-distributed. Aside from that limitation, Enjoy. Update - As mentioned above, we've added access to wallpapers of Photo Art to complement our usual classic paintings. While these include some nude art images, Don't Worry! We're not sending you into Porn Hell with the Pop-Ups, Ads, or all of that other nonsense. As always, no gimmicks, no tricks. As mentioned before, we feel the works we've found are elegant and tasteful, but taste is subjective, and the choice is yours. Please err on the side of caution. If you have any doubt, don't go there! Click Photos at right or HERE to view. The photo and nude art wallpapers are by many different photographers and several different content providers. They were selected for their relatively mild to moderate nature compared to much of the content on the web, but again, mild is subjective, so use your own judgment and err on the side of caution. The images are centrally located at www.Zonja.com - Click on that URL or HERE to visit the site. I must say, in our opinion, the works found there are elegant, tasteful and just plain beautiful. The choice is yours. Please adhere to the age limit restriction if appropriate. FeedbackA secondary benefit is that I'm testing a new server system and related admin features. Also, some pesky Gremlins in the old server became unbearable. So if anything ain't workin' right, click the E-Mail button and let me know what's not working so I can whip this puppy into line. By the way, several people have sent me notes saying they want to set up their own sites for various reasons, from general links to promos to the basic photo album, but they haven't because they think it's a huge undertaking.... If you're comfortable with computers, and ya got some pictures, products, or just stuff you want to share, worry not... With a $89 copy of Microsoft FrontPage, a $15 starter template download (links only, I get nothing), and a day or two laid up with a busted toe (in my case) or whatever, it's pretty easy to put together the core of a little site like this - then just toss on new info when people ask, hit 'Publish' and that's it. You don't have to be some whiz-bang master of technology. As with anything new, you'll fumble around a bit at first, but then it becomes pretty straightforward.
